2013 Australian Election

The 7th September 2013 is the proposed date for all Australians to 'have their say'.  But the more I think about my right to vote, the more I feel restricted.
At the moment the two parties of parliament, Liberal and Labor (currently being Governed by the Labor Party) are not representing our country or the views and opinions of its people well at all.
It is an Australian's great privilege to have the right to vote and particularly as a woman to have had this vote won for us.
The sad part about our vote, is that the independent parties, the smaller ones, give our votes away to either of these parties.
This means that the Australian public can never vote an independent party into office.
For instance, if i were to vote for the Greens Party, they have chosen to designate that vote towards the Labor Party.
Our nation will only have two Parties in office, Liberal or Labor as I've already stated.  But neither of these Parties necessarily represent the views and opinions of Australia as an entirety.
It's my belief that independent parties should have the right to take office as well, particularly if that's where the majority of votes are being cast.  If the Greens Party (or any independent party for that matter) receive more votes than Labor or Liberal, then I believe that Party should have the opportunity to govern our nation.  I don't understand why our Government should solely rely on just two of many Parties.
I also feel that this would represent the heart of Australia more accurately.
