Weekend Getaway
This weekend just gone, i went on an adventure to Wollongong and it was super, uber cool fun!!! Mr and Mrs Newton were away and so Jenna and Ashleigh had the house to themselves and boy oh boy, we had a rocking fun time! As Mr and Mrs Sandercock were also away, it was also primarily to be Cameron's adoptive mother for the weekend - he misses me already!!!
After getting just a little lost (Cordeaux Heights is hectic!!!) i arrived at my destination and as soon as i walked through their front door i had this super cool rush of excitement to see people i hadn't seen for a month or so!!!
When i arrived, Jenna, Ash, Nathan and Cam were there as well as a girl i didn't really know well at the time called Amanda - it turns out that she's such a sweetheart!!! Her little brother though really needs to lay off the sugar!!!
It was a weekend filled with good company, all you can play guitar hero, all you can sing singstar, FABO cooking, nightmare, pictionary, shopping, Friends, The Simpsons, Will and Grace, cheap underwear, little fluffy dogs, LOTS of mattresses, pillows and sleeping bags/blankets, lollies, chips, X-box and comfy couches.
Cameron is a little maggot because he was rocking the party with his star quality guitar-playing, sliding on his knees and everything and i fully got his whole performance on video when he charged at me, stealing my camera, locking himself in the toilet and DELETING my video!!!!!! I couldn't believe it - he's a maggot!!!!! But we still love him!
Saturday was just filled with oh so much fun! It was quite a late start to the day but by about 2pm, we were seated at the hide-away cafe (sitting opposite a lesbian couple making out - we didn't quite understand that) and were all ready to chow down into some well deserved lunch.
After lunch and after Cameron had taught me how to play Spotto, we went shopping, where I bought some new undies (what you always wanted to know) as i forgot to bring any with me (IDIOT!) then we browsed through jeanswest and cotton on and EB for Cam's entertainment, also payless shoes as i needed to buy shoes to go away with (I'm off to the USA for 3 months in June). After no luck there, we stopped in at Rivers on our way back to the car - SUCCESS! I bought a pair of new shoes to go away with.
I decided to stay on Saturday night as did everyone else and thus we had another night of games and junk food. The latest addition to our party was Jarrod, Esther and Ellen - 'hold me back, hold me back' - that Esther girl is one funny lady!
Our game of nightmare was fun but the game that took the cake had to be pictionary. I swear Ashleigh and Amanada had some secret code going on because Ashleigh only had to draw one stroke and Amanda would get it right - i reckon they cheated somehow?! Towards the end, we managed to freak ourselves out when, as Jenna was about to open the front door, the DVD player came on playing random music. The weather didn't help our nerves/fears.
We also played Balderdash - probly the highlight of the night with some people TRYING to sound serious in their answers and others (i won't name names Cam) completely missing the mark! I have to say, being the winner of the game and all, that i managed to convince people alot of my made up truths! Apparently i seem to be good at verbal diorrhea!
The night ended with 'friends' at about 4am, Nathan snoring and poor Cameron almost getting belted by a zombie lookinig Nathan when Cam tried to take Nath's pillow - ha! That was truly a scary moment, i honestly thought Nathan had turned evil and was goin to kill us all - Cameron was pleading for his life that Nath's snoring was 'really bad'!
Nathan had to leave at random times intermittantly but he always came back - lucky! His poor little dog was home alone and Nathan was feeling bad - ha! Puhlease! He's such a good dog-owner though!
Speaking of dogs, Cameron tried so desperately to get Bruiser's attention(the Newtons dog) allllllll weekend. All he wanted was Bruiser to love him. He tried tirelessly to get Bruiser to jump on the couch into his lap but alas, nothing. Bruiser just didn't want a bar of it. Then, i think it was Sunday morning, Cameron got up to go to the bathroom or play x-box or something and Bruiser jumped into his seat immediately after he left - Bruiser just wanted the lounge, not Cameron!!!!! Camerson was crushed to say the least!!!
Also on Sunday morning, we were all dead to the world until about 11am at which time we feasted on bacon and eggs and watched repeats of all the shows we'd already seen over the weekend. One episode of friends was shown THREE TIMES on fox. It was a little frustrating! Cameron hated the part where Ross and another girl got up and walk out on a man who had verbal diorrhea - he thought it was rude. Bless.
After Amanda and Jarrod had left, we hoed down into the pikelets their mum had made us and kept right on watching telly. At 12, Nath and Cam left our party and it was just me, Ash and Jenna left. So i collected my things, helped them clean up a bit and drove on home.
Wollongong is such a beatiful place and i fall more and more in love with it everytime i go.
I feel.....refreshed....ahhhhh....
